Volunteer opportunities!

City Harvest's “De-Canstruction” - November 20th

“Canstruction” is an annual design and build competition to construct giant sized structures made entirely out of canned food. City Harvest is currently recruiting volunteers to help “De-Canstruct” the sculptures of cans, which will then be donated to City Harvest.  This rescue could be up to 80,000 pounds! This year’s De-Canstruction will take place on Thursday, November 20th starting at 7pm at the World Financial Center. To volunteer please contact Gretchen Garry at ggarry@ushgnyc.com

NY Produce Show Food Rescue - December 4th

On Wednesday, December 3rd from 4:30-8pm, some 100 volunteers will join City Harvest at the close of the New York Produce Show (held at the Jacob Javits Center) to rescue nearly 60,000lbs of food. Volunteers will work in teams to collect food donations to be loaded onto City Harvest trucks and distributed to emergency food programs throughout the five boroughs of New York City.  To volunteer please contact Gretchen Garry at ggarry@ushgnyc.com
