Subject: Giving Back to our Community - 10/1/2014

Dear USHG Colleagues,

I want to congratulate Kevin Richer, Chef Eric Korsh, Chef John Karangis, Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois and the North End Grill, Union Square Events and Blue Smoke teams for their outstanding work hosting our 21st annual Autumn Harvest Dinner Monday night. North End Grill hosted four chefs and 115 guests in our annual dinner to benefit Share Our Strength. It was a wonderful event and we couldn’t be more proud  - the dinner raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Share Our Strength, an organization that’s very close to the heart of USHG.

The Autumn Harvest Dinner is just one example of the focus and effort we as a company put on our community. There are countless examples in each of our restaurants that happen every day, from the work you do with Beth Israel Hospice, to company-wide promotions like Drink Pink, to business-specific focuses like Maialino’s Industry night (the next one is this Monday) and Gramercy Tavern’s work with God’s Love We Deliver. Team Gramercy Tavern is already gearing up for “Race to Deliver” in November, with an ambitious goal of raising $45,000, which is within reach following last year’s impressive total of $33,000.

Playing such an integral role in our communities is an important part of what makes us USHG. We want to thank you all for your effort and contributions, and encourage everyone to give back in their own way. If you don’t know where to start, check out the Community Calendar on to find and share opportunities to get involved.
